Karen Green returns to Place with a new body of work - How on Earth - inspired by and celebrating the release of Green's book from Siglio Press, Bough Down. Lauded by critics and fellow authors, Bough Down is a fusion of poetry and prose in conjunction with images from her past show, Tiny Stampede. The paintings in How on Earth are expressionistic plein air landscapes in oil on canvas, but a closer look reveals sentence fragments culled from Green’s book - repurposing and transforming the words as they take on a more literal meaning yet maintain the sense of depth and mystery, making Green's work compelling to old and new fans alike.
